new work - july 2010

These are a few of the pieces that came out of July's cone 6 firings.

The glaze on the first 12 pieces is my first personally created glaze.  I call it "Cottonwood", based on the fact that the
color, a dusty/silvery green, is the color of the leaves of the cottonwood trees that line the Cimarron River that runs just
north of my studio.

"Cottonwood" is a cone 6 glaze that can range from a bright butter yellow matte with iridescent silver-blue streaks to a
varigated robin's egg blue, to a glossy mint with pearl colored crystals in it.

The turquoise pieces in the bottom row are glazed with a variation of Pete Pinnell's Bronze glaze.  This glaze can produce
a full bodied turquoise with a background ranging from soft tan to a strong grey.

I hope you enjoy the beauty and use of the pieces you choose, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any
questions.
